WHAT IS SALE DRUG LICENSE?

A person who involved in drugs or medicines selling a business is availed for Sale Drug License, in case of Retail or Wholesale. If any person suffers any harm while consuming drugs then carelessness falls into the lap of the manufacturer or seller and both parties are chargeable for fault.

 

THE PROCESS OF A DEPARTMENT FOR ISSUES A SALE DRUG LICENSE:

 

      The department followed the process for issue Sale Drug License are:

  1. The applicant needs to online registration
  2. Submitted the Application Form.
  3. The application was accepted at the Drug Inspector’s Office.
  4. The application is a verification and selected by the Drug inspector
  5. Incompatibility in the Application form
  6. Application is eligible
  7. The Drug Inspector and Reporter will inspect the application.
  8. The Application form forward to DLA
  9. If Application Documents are correct then the premises compile rule as per law.
  10. If have any wrong found then solve that.
  11. A license permitted by DLA
  12. Uploaded the Signed Copy.
  13. Finally, the Sale Drug License is received by the applicant
  14. Lastly, if got any wrong the application and not solved it, will be rejected by the Drug Inspector or Officer.

 

There are three types of drug license:

  1. Wholesale Drug License.
  2. Retail Drug License.
  3. Restrict Drug License.

 

WHOLESALE DRUG LICENSE:

 

Wholesale drug license states that a drug businessman who issued a license for medical stores, dealing in the wholesale business of drugs and medicines.

Licensing is necessary to do business in Drugs & Cosmetics in India. The agency/distributor/ individual agent is licensed by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) to be an authorized Indian agent for local/foreign wholesale business.

 

RETAIL DRUG LICENSE:

 

All retailers who want to open the business of Drugs and Cosmetics in India all are mandatory to obtaining Drug License. Obtaining a Retail Drug License related provisions are defined in the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. This provision is applicable to every state and region of India.

Retail drug licenses will only be issued to entities that have a registered / competent pharmacist approved by the department, and are required during the working hours of the registered pharmacist.

The documents required for a retail drug license is the same as for a wholesale drug license

 

Things to Keep In Mind:

It is mandatory for all pharmacies to obtain a drug license. The State Drug Control Organization is responsible for licensing wholesale pharmacies as well as retail pharmacies. However, the approval rate for retail licenses is much lower than for wholesale licenses.

 

RESTRICTED LICENSE FOR GENERAL STORE IN INDIA:

 

Such licenses are issued to those who engage in sales of drugs without the support of registered / competent pharmacists.

The restricted license is issued under Forms 20A and 21A.

 

CONDITIONS OF RESTRICTED DRUG LICENSE:-

  1. This license will be displayed in a prominent place on a part of the premises that is open to the public.
  2. Licensors may only transact such drugs which may be sold without the supervision of a "qualified person" as defined in sub-rule (15) of Rule 65 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945.
  3. No such drug can be sold unless it is purchased under a credit memo from a properly licensed dealer or a properly licensed manufacturer unless
