       Yes, one can see the copyright records. The Copyright Office is necessary as per the law to maintain the records of copyright registrations. It is also required to make them available for public inspection. Once the registration is completed and the claim has been cataloged, it becomes a part of the public record. Individuals who have always been able to come to the Copyright Office can inspect their public records.
