To provide cashlessly and hassle-free medical services, ESI Corporation in its 143rd meeting prevailed 08.07.2008 has taken a call for bearing the super-specialty expenditure directly w.e.f. 01.08.2008. For this, hold up arrangements are created directly by ESIC with acknowledged Govt. / personal hospitals for super specialty investigations and services.

Availing Super Specialty Treatment from any of the tie-up/network hospitals of ESIC within the country.

 

To remove difficulties being round-faced by IPs and their families in obtaining the super-specialty investigations and treatment thanks to tie- up hospitals being very distant and a few of the facilities not available in their states and that they need to hunt permission for obtaining treatment from another state, ESIC approved that IPs and their relations will get super specialty treatment from any of the tie-up/ network hospital of ESIC everywhere the country. this may provide them a wider selection. The directions have get impact from 15-01-10.


Provision of primary and secondary medical aid services within an affordable distance.

ESIC has taken a choice to produce primary, secondary and tertiary medical aid services directly within the areas wherever there's no ESI Hospital within a distance of twenty five kms and concentration of IPs is over 25000 and no ESI clinic within a distance of eight kms wherever the concentration of IPs is over 5000 and therefore the total expenditure are going to be borne by ESIC until ESIC’s own infrastructure is formed in these areas. Revision of norms for making medical infrastructure in northeast States & hilly areas.

ESI Corporation throughout its 155th meeting held on 18.01.2012 at chennai has approved the adoption of the following norms for the North jap States & other cragged Areas of the Country for making AN infrastructure for augmenting the implementation of the ESI scheme in these areas as under:-

Enhancement of tax fees and specialised medicines charges for employers utilization dispensaries.

 

ESI Corporation throughout its 154th meeting held on 15.12.2011 at new delhi has approved the enhancement of tax fees and specialised medication charges for Employers Utilization Dispensaries from the prevailing rates of Rs. 100/- to 250/- per ip per family unit per annum and Rs. 80/- to Rs. 200/- per science family unit respectively.

This quantity are going to be absolutely borne by the ESI Corporation outside the ceiling.


Hiring of Accommodation of ESIC Dispensaries by ESIC.

ESIC has approved hiring of accommodation for housing the dispensaries whenever want arises either for beginning new dispensaries or for shifting from existing dispensaries of the state. the whole expenditure on hiring of those dispensaries would be borne by ESIC directly. e) To take care of the repair and maintenance of the hospital building and buildings of the attached dispensaries.

f) To get ISO Certificate for the hospitals and attached dispensaries.

The HDCs are comprised of representatives of employers, employees, State Govts. and medical superintendents of ESIS/ESIC hospitals as Chairman. Occupational Disease Centres

 

ESI Corporation has set up 5 zonal occupational disease centres for providing medical treatment. These zonal hospitals are set up at ESIC Model Hospital, Basaidarapur for North zone, ESIC Model Hospital, KK Nagar for South Zone, ESI Hospital, Thakurpukur for East Zone, ESIC Model Hospital, Andheri for West Zone, and ESIC Model Hospital, Indore for Central Zone. Further, ODC at Basaidarapur has been upgraded to the Institute of activity Health, environment & research (IOHER)to act as a nodal Institute for rising activity health to International standards altogether ESI health care establishments throughout india. an MoU has been signed between IVPS & ESIC for coordination and cooperation academic coaching & sharing information on activity diseases.

 

Setting up of Model Hospitals

 

The ESI Corporation in its meeting persisted 16.02.2001 had approved the setting up of 1 Model Hospital in every State. On sixteenth February 2002, the ESI Corporation in agreement in theory to line up one Model Hospital in every State. The Model Hospitals were soft on the consent of the involved State Governments and are aimed to supply state of art secondary care medical facilities. the whole expenditure on these hospitals is being borne by the ESI Corporation itself.

The Model Hospital shall have the facilities for all General specialty services, medical specialty with ICCU facilities, round the clock emergency services, medical care Unit, chemical analysis facilities, Radio- Diagnostic and Laboratory facilities as well as arrangements for safe transfusion services, MRD, pharmacy, Dietary, CSSD, Laundry, Waste Management, Engineering etc. proper MIS, Patient information system and Hospital communication, safety and security arrangements, continuing Medical Education, health Education and training programmes. The entire service facilities shall be supported with modern equipments and shall be computerized.

 

ESIC has set up a super-specialty hospital at Kollam in Kerala primarily for Cardiology discipline. Pending regular recruitment of Specialists, ESIC has engaged contractual Cardiologists, G.I. Specialists and Urologists.

ESIC is also running super speciality hospital at Sanathnagar, Hyderabad with super specialties such as Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics & Paediatric surgery etc.
