ESIC Contribution for the month of April 2021 has been extended up to 15th  June instead of 15th May

The entire world dealing with the second wave of COVID-19, India also fights against a very critical and very challenging situation due to the second wave of COVID-19 Pandemic. Most of the Indian people affected by the COVID, so a large number of workers are unable to work and many establishments are temporarily closed. So Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) notices the situation ESIC has relaxed the provision as entered in Regulation 31 of ESI (General) Regulations, 1950 and allowed the filing of ESI contribution for the month of April 2021 up to 15th June 2021 instead of 15th May 2021. In the pandemic situation the relief measures being extended by Government to business entities and workers, Employees.

 

Ministry of Labour & Employment stated, “In line with the relief measures being extended by Government to business entities and workers, Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has relaxed the provision as entered in Regulation 31 of ESI (General) Regulations, 1950 and allowed the filing of ESI contribution for the month of April 2021 up to 15th June 2021 instead of 15th May 2021.”

 

The employers covered under ESI Scheme can now file and pay ESI Contribution for the month of April 2021 up to 15th June 2021 instead of 15th May 2021. This will provide an extended window to 12.36 lakhs Employers to pay the contribution under the ESI scheme.
